What is a Digital Pass?

1. A Digital pass is a fraud-protected QR code stored on your mobile device. When asked, simply show the QR code. NO PHYSICAL PASS IS ISSUED.

2. One device can store multiple digital passes.

3. Daily and Weekly passes go on sale when the season begins.

4. Seasonal passes are sold at the pre-season rate from January 1st through May 31st, and at the seasonal rate, starting June 1st.

Purchasing a Digital Pass:

1. All sales are final.

2. Digital passes CANNOT be exchanged for physical badges.

3. Any applicable fees are clearly disclosed before purchase.

Seasonal Badges: Pre-Season – $40 (Jan. 1st to May 31st), Seasonal – $50 (starting June 1st)

Weekly- $20.00

  • In Person: on the beach or at the beach badge office, available for purchase starting the first day that badge checkers are working on the beach (changes yearly), payment via cash only on the beach OR at the badge office via cash, check, or credit/debit card (processing fee applied)

Daily- $10.00

  • In Person: on the beach or at the beach badge office, available for purchase starting the first day that badge checkers are working on the beach (changes yearly), payment via cash only OR at the badge office via cash, check, or credit/debit card (processing fees applied)

Senior Lifetime- $10.00 initial and replacement fee if lost

  • In Person: available for those 65 and older, individual must be present during purchase, only available for purchase at the beach badge office, during their hours of operation, (cash, check, credit/debit card, processing fees applied), ID required

Veteran Lifetime Recreation- FREE

  • In Person: available only at the beach badge office only, during their hours of operation, individual must be present during purchase, proper ID required

Active Military and their immediate family Weekly Recreation Wristbands– FREE

  • In Person: available only at the beach badge office only, during their hours of operation, proper ID required

Processing Fees for CREDIT/DEBIT CARD PURCHASES:

  • $3.00 for purchases up to and including $113.
  • 2.65% for purchases above $113.

 GENERAL BEACH INFORMATION:

Beach Taxi, Beach Wheels & Handicap-accessible Beach Access

  • Beach Mats are located at various beach entrances throughout the Borough: Nelson Ave., Merrivale Ave., Leeward Ave., Fairview Ave., Dolphin Ave., Chatsworth Ave., Belvoir Ave., 7th St., 10th St., and 12th St. (Mats are removed in the off season)
  • Free Beach Taxi rides are available, during the season, for physically challenged individuals staying in Beach Haven.  You will be picked up, and later dropped off, at your address and driven onto the beach on either 13th St., Taylor Ave., Centre St., Berkeley Ave., Holyoke Ave., Kentford Ave., or Nelson Ave.  CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION
  • Handicapped beach access is available on Fifth Street, Centre Street, and Pearl Street
  • If you or a loved one needs a beach wheel chair please contact the beach badge office, once they open, until Labor Day, at 609-492-9193, and the Public Works department from Labor Day until mid June,
  • at 609-492-2525, for delivery to your home.
  • There is always a beach wheel chair for use at the Centre Street Beach Patrol Building (first come, first serve), during the summer.
  • Handicapped parking near the beach entrances can be found on Taylor Ave., Centre St., Engleside Ave., Amber St., and Pearl St.

Conduct on the beach

ALL PERSONS ON THE BEACH OR IN THE OCEAN SHALL IMMEDIATELY OBEY ALL DIRECTIONS, ORDERS OR SIGNALS USED BY THE LIFEGUARDS AND POLICE.

  • Swimming– No person shall enter or remain in the surf beyond the northerly or southerly boundaries of bathing districts as designated by flag markers posted by the lifeguards. Swimming is prohibited during periods of storm, high wind or dangerous currents.
  • Tents on the Beach- Tents are not allowed on Borough beaches, per Borough code 55-9. Only 7ft. umbrellas, with an anchor, and 4ftx4ft baby popups are allowed.  Do not block beach entrances and lifeguard stands with your setup. Lifeguards will be make sure that this rule is adhered to.  For more information,CLICK HERE, to read the latest updates to the code.
  • Surfing– Surfing is permitted, when lifeguards are on duty between the hours of 10am and 5pm, within the surfing designated areas, marked by the quartered black/white flags.
  • Volleyball Courts- A public volleyball court is located on the beach between 3rd and 4th Street.
  • Ball playing on the Beach– Ball playing, ball throwing, quoits, horseshoes and like activities will be permitted at the discretion of the Lifeguard Captain, Chief of Police or their designees (ie. lifeguards on duty). These activities are prohibited from 10 am to 5 pm in areas between flags placed to designate authorized swimming areas. These activities are also banned from the dune area at all times. * Throwing any object which may endanger or be likely to endanger persons or property is prohibited on the beach, dune area, pavilions, walkways or access ways to any pavilions or beaches within the Borough of Beach Haven. *These restrictions are in effect from the 4th Saturday in June until Labor Day.
  • Kite & Drone Flying on the Beach– Kite and drone flying will be permitted on the beach only before 10 am and after 5 pm. This activity is banned from the dune area at all times.
  • Horseback Riding on the Beach– Horseback riding is prohibited at all times on the beach, sand or dune area.
  • Fishing– Fishing is allowed 50 yards outside of the designated bathing and surfing areas of the beach.
  • Kayak Launching– Kayaking  is allowed 50 yards outside of the designated bathing and surfing areas. All occupants of vessels are required to wear a certified personal flotation device.
  • Food & Beverages on the Beach– Food and drinks are allowed on the beach.  However, there is no cooking or preparing of food allowed on the beach and we ask that you please help to keep our beaches clean by throwing out your trash in the designated receptacles.
  • Alcohol on the BeachUNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES & OPEN CONTAINERS OF THE LIKE PERMITTED ON THE BEACHES.
  • Smoking– There is NO SMOKING of any kind on Beach Haven beaches.
  • Dogs- Dogs are permitted  on the beach from September 16th until May 14th ONLY.  If your dog poops, you scoop, it’s the law!  There is a small dog beach located at the bay on Taylor Avenue.
  • Beach Buggy Permits– Register with the Beach Haven Police Department. Call 609-492-0111, x101.

  • Caring for Beach Haven Dunes: IT IS ILLEGAL FOR ANY PERSON TO WALK ON OR DISTURB ANY DUNE AREA IN THE BOROUGH OF BEACH HAVEN

Public restrooms/rinse stations

  • Public restrooms and rinse stations are located at the Centre St. Beach Patrol building, at the beach entrance.
  • Public restrooms are also located a few blocks from the beach at Veterans Park (on Amber St.) and at the Nelson Ave. playground (on Nelson Ave.).

Public parking near beach entrances

  • Public Parking within the Borough of Beach Haven is FREE.
  • There is no parking of any vehicles, including trailers, on any Borough owned parking lot for more than 48 hours total, concurrent or non-concurrent, within a seven day period.
  • Taylor Ave., Centre St., Engleside Ave., Amber St., Coral St., Pearl St., and Marine St. all have parking areas on the ocean side.
  • There is another parking area located a half block south of Nelson Ave. on the ocean side.
  • Street parking is also available on all streets.

Beach Entrances with Mobi-Mats

  • Mats are located on these entrances only: Nelson Ave., Merrivale Ave., Leeward Ave., Dolphin Ave., Chatsworth Ave., Belvoir Ave., 7th St., 10th St., and 12th St.
  • Mats are put into place in the summer, as the DPW schedule and weather permit, and are removed in September
