PUMP STATION PROJECT INFORMATION:
Construction of upgrades and improvements to Stormwater Pump Stations on 7th Street, 12th Street and Pearl Street and Drainage Improvements are complete and operational. They were financed by the New Jersey Water Bank (NJWB), with Ocean County reimbursing the town for the cost of the project, at a cost of $2.8 million dollars.
This project will help eliminate and reduce nuisance flooding.
The proper functioning of these pumps relies heavily on keeping the streets clean of litter. Litter clogs the screens that protect the pumps from damage. Too much litter also clogs up the system and stops the pumps from working, which prevents the water from being drained off of the road.
PLEASE DO YOUR PART AND PROTECT OUR STORM DRAINS! DO NOT LITTER!
