LBIHD Covid Vaccine Info 3-08-21

2021-03-08T15:28:49-05:00

As of March 7, 2021, our local health department has administered 1,985 doses of Moderna Covid -19 vaccine. To give you a sense of the supply limitations, the State has more than 1,700 providers approved to distribute vaccine but, only has enough supply to provide vaccine to nearly 300 sites.

Our local health department is making available appointments to our residents as our physical supply permits through our website: http://lbihealth.com/covid-19-vaccine-scheduling/. The option to schedule is posted when there are appointments available. Ocean County vaccination sites are still working through many eligible individuals, that to date are still unable to find an appointment. Our clinics are by appointment only and are in partnership with St. Francis of Assisi Parish & Community Center are located in the Parish Hall at 4700 Long Beach Boulevard, Brant Beach, NJ 08008.

The State is opening up more eligibility and we are not through the inventory of eligible individuals and seniors seeking vaccine appointments. We are continually assisting our most senior and chronically ill members of our community, those with lack of computer access or limited computer literacy to schedule appointments when we have availability. Another program for Long Beach Island Residents is ongoing for medically homebound and bedridden individuals to access opportunities for vaccination, please call (609)-492-1212 if you are or know someone that meet’s these criteria.

Some additional resources:

Call (856)-249-7007, if you are a senior 75+ needing assistance with the following:

Covid Vaccine Clinic Site

2021-05-21T12:21:42-04:00

Long Beach Island Health Department will be hosting appointment based Covid-19 vaccination clinics at the St. Francis of Assisi Church Hall located at 4700 Long Beach Boulevard, Brant Beach. This week in conjunction with this clinic site we are launching an online scheduling platform where all appointments will be made through our Covid-19 tab on our web site at www.lbihealth.com.  We will continue to post appointments based on the supply we physically have.  Please familiarize yourself with the following information:

  • The Long Beach Island (LBIHD) COVID-19 vaccination clinics are restricted to residents of Ocean County. Out of county residents should contact the local health department where they live for access to COVID-19 vaccinations. Ocean County residents will be required to have ID showing proof of residency when showing up to their appointment.
  • Ocean County residents must have an appointment with LBIHD to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. The LBIHD does not have any reserve (leftover) vaccine at the end of the day. Therefore, anyone who shows up at the end of the day – or at anytime – without an appointment will be turned away.
  • Appointments are NONTRANSFERABLE. Only the person named on the appointment will be able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at that specific date/time. Please do NOT send anyone else in your place – they will be turned away.
  • Anyone who received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at one of the LBIHD vaccination sites,  can expect to schedule the second dose at the same time you are able to schedule the first dose.
  • Please do not call St. Francis Parish or Community Center regarding vaccine, they are not part of our scheduling system. Any individual with disabilities and/or access and functional needs, lack of computer access, should you require assistance, please call us at 609-492-1212.

The LBIHD appreciates everyone’s patience as more vaccine, sites and appointments become available.

2021-05-21T12:21:36-04:00

With a historic vaccine campaign unfolding and with increased anticipation and expectations building in our community, it is a good time to offer the public some information about the monumental efforts and undertakings conducted by our health department since the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak, almost 11 months ago. Since March, there has been a tremendous, sustained effort underway in all health departments throughout the country and as much of this pandemic has been a disaster, it most certainly would be a catastrophe without public health systems.
